The Road to Extrememania
We open with a video package, which gives us out first look at the SWF Superdome, well the outside of it, and we see the sign on it, that is in huge, neon blue letters, and one of those screens underneath that tells of the events, which reads "Extrememania March 26". Then we see a montage that runs down all the matches for Extrememania, and from Extreme & Billion Dollar Man's recent public appearances (they each were on some talk shows) before cutting to the SWF Fan Fair, which is in some giant facility, and is set up like a museum, with various booths and displays. Clips are shown with various SWF talents signing autographs, and just hanging out with fans, then we go live, where a stage is set up like those pre-boxing match press conferences, which is adorned with big posters for Extrememania. There are two long tables (with mics in front of each seat), set up, with a podium set up in the middle. Also, there is a scale, it looks like there will be a weigh in! There is a huge array of press and fans entering for the conference, showing how big the SWF has gotten. Vance McMillian is apparently the emcee for the evening, and he talks to us from off the side of the stage.
Vance(hyped): Welcome to the SWF special broadcast, The Road to Extrememania! We are glad you could all join us! We have fans and media from all over the globe on hand, ready for Extrememania, a mere 6 days away! We're here LIVE from the jam packed SWF Fan Fair, where tonight, we will hear comments from the participants of the Extrememania matches, and, on this very stage, minutes from now, SWF Champion The Billion Dollar Man and Extreme Superstar will have their weigh in, coming face to face one last time before their epic main event match! Without further ado, let me hand it over to my colleague, Dean Bokerlund, who is right down in the middle of the madness of SWF Fan Fair's main floor, Dean?
Dean(also amped): Thanks Vance. With the biggest SWF PPV right around the corner, what are those men involved thinking? We're about to find out! First up, the participants of the Endurance Battle Royal!
We see a short video package, with Dean doing a voice over about each participant as they are shown. Dean has the participants come on camera one by one to interview them. All proclaim (Yeti merely makes a throat cutting gesture) victory, and make it clear that they will challenge for the SWF World title should they win. JuJu says he will win since he dominated the last match of it's kind. Reverend and Xavier say that when they get the title shot the winner receives, and win the World title, they'll clean the SWF up, since they will be the flagship stars, and have real power. Repo is dressed like The Rock (with people's eyebrow even painted on), and steals all Rocky's catch phrases, saying he'll be "the people's champion".
We cut to a video package of the 6 Man Title match participants. When Dean interviews them, The Good Ol Boys predict to retain. Generation Gap say they'll regain the titles, and Jimmy talks about how they'll all celebrate by riding around town in his DeLorean while they blast Queen's We Are The Champions. Silkky Smooth & Sex Connection warn their opponents that they are a better team than they'd expect.
Now, we see a video for the brother vs brother Hardcore title match, with champion Jack Suicide facing his older brother Mike Suicide. They each say that being brothers won't stop them from doing whatever it takes to win. When Dean asks them each about this match tearing apart their family and tag team, they both say they have an understanding, nothing that goes on in the ring is personal.
We get a video, covering the whole Petey vs Octane feud. Octane doesn't say anything in his interview, but gives a thumbs down (refereeing to what will happen to Petey) and walks away. Petey is pretty upset, and he tells Octane that he'll pay for tormenting him.
We get a Ayatollah Sheik vs Freedom Fighter video. In the interview, Sheik runs down America, and says what a pleasure it will be to beat Freedom in front of 80,000 Americans live, and have his home country watching on PPV. Freedom says he'll regain the title for his country, and silence Sheik once and for all.
We then get a Black Dragons vs Cash Inc Video. Cash Inc basically act like jerks, and assure victory. Through the aid of a translator, Quow promises revenge, while Shadow nods in agreement.
Dean: Well, there you have it, but now, back to Vance, where the press conference is about to begin! Vance?
We cut back to Vance, who is at the podium. All the media is now there, with cameras clicking, flashbulbs going off, and fans are cheering.
Vance(to the crowd): Are you ready?(crowd cheers loudly) Let's KICK IT OFF! (fans cheer and we go to Angelica who is standing by the scale, she is apparently the announcer for tonight)
BDM's music strikes up, and Angelica begins his introduction:
Angelica: Introducing first, the SWF World Heavyweight Champion, originally hailing from Boston Massachusetts, he's the leader of Cash Inc, a multi-billionaire, and the first and only SWF Champion in history, The Billion Dollar Man!
The crowd boos loudly as BDM saunters out, accompanied by green lights and glitter, wearing a flashy green suit. He makes his way to the scale, where he hands over the SWF title, and is weighed by some unknown crew person.
Angelica( reading the weight): His official weight, 246 lbs!
BDM steps off, takes his title, and taunts fans with it as he goes to his seat at one of the tables. The lights then turn off as Extreme's music hits, sending the crowd into a frenzy, and when they come back on and Extreme slowly enters, wearing light blue jeans, a yellow sweater, a black leather jacket, and backwards white Tennessee Titans fitted hat. He plays up to the crowd, and even goes to BDM's table and getting in his face as Angelica gives his intro:
Angelica: And the challenger, the owner of the SWF, originally hailing from Key West Florida, the Innovator of Extreme, ladies and gentlemen, the one, the only, Extreme Superstar! (The crowd gets even louder than they were before)
Extreme becomes all business and steps on the scale and weighed.
Angelica(reads the weight): His official weight, 205 lbs!
With both men seated, Vance then opens the floor for questions from the press. The first one is directed to Extreme, about how popular the SWF has become, and what does the future hold, in terms of expansion:
Extreme: I'm very pleased at how huge the SWF has become, taking wrestling once again to the forefront of popular culture, especially since it was huge gamble in building two arenas, and all the expenses we paid to ensure a top notch program. To help recoup the funds it took making both the SWF Arena & Superdome, we are going to start renting them out to other events, providing us with a nice influx of cash, and boosting the local economy. We are also getting all our ideas together for merchandising, Extrememania is really going to be a big test for us, as initial merchandise, shirts, hats, jerseys, and magazines commemorating the event will be for sale at the show, and have done well already at Fan Fair. If things go well, we plan to start with one shirt for every wrestler, and various other products will be made as well. Also, the official SWF website, that had been around since the beginning, just got a complete overhaul, and the merchandise will be available there as well. Lastly, fans should be happy to know that videos and DVDs of past PPVs are already in the making, the first is set for release soon. Being a DVDphile myself, I'm personally making sure these things are packed with extras, so you will all be very happy with the results. (applause from everyone)
The next question is for The Billion Dollar Man, a reporter asks what it's like being the hottest villain in wrestling today:
BDM: It's been interesting, I never thought it'd get this big, but wouldn't you know, I get asked on talk shows, as a matter of fact, I did one last night, and will probably do some more. I have done a few magazine covers that will be out soon, some interviews, lectures, the works. And, if Hollywood came calling, I might just be willing to do some TV and movies, hint, hint. (that gets a nice laugh)
The next question is for Extreme, asking about WWE, and his thoughts on them:
Extreme: I love WWE, I grew up watching it, and still do religiously every week, and order all the PPVs. It's the reason I'm even here, if it weren't for Vince McMahon, my idol Hulk Hogan, and all the other people who were responsible for me being a fan, the SWF couldn't exist. I don't try and compete with WWE, and certainly don't want to steal their talent, or try and run Vince out of business. I would LOVE to work WITH them, and we could do some great stuff together. If Vince ever wanted to set something up, I'd be down with working his shows, or setting up a talent exchange like what they did with ECW, that would be a dream come true.
The next question is for BDM, asking about his thoughts on WWE, and his gimmick:
BDM: Well, I love WWE, Ted Dibiase was my favorite wrestler, so I modeled myself after him, like Extreme did with Hulk Hogan, which puts our whole match in much better perspective. I agree with Extreme on a possible working relationship with WWE, as would every other SWF wrestler if you asked them, we were all fans, who grew up watching them, and were influenced by it.
We get another question for BDM, about the boss, Extreme Superstar being the most popular guy in the company:
BDM: He's the man I guess, he just has IT, boss or not. He'll tell you that he's a wrestler at heart, but he created the SWF because he saw the chance to make his dream of being a top star come true through it, and it worked. He might not own it for long though. (the crowd oohs, and Extreme gives a look that says " we'll see about that", then begins to talk)
Extreme: You got a nice little shot in there, Paulie....
BDM(mad): DON'T CALL ME PAULIE! (The crowd then obviously chants "Paulie! Paulie!" as Extreme goads them on)
Extreme: That is your real name, is it not? I find it silly to have to call you "The Billion Dollar Man".
BDM(still a little mad): My name is PAUL, not Paulie, you can call me Paul, I HATE Paulie, people used to call me that as a kid, and I hated it then too!
Extreme(getting a kick out of this): Ok, sorry PAUL, there, better? (BDM says yes) Geez, it's not like I called you PAULA or anything (a small "Paula" chant starts up, and Extreme once again eggs the fans on, as everyone but BDM laugh)
BDM(fuming, to the fans, who continue the chant): SHUT UP! (The crowd begins to quiet, as Extreme sarcastically admonishes them, and they laugh)
Extreme(laughing): Wow, I haven't heard that chant since Paul Orndorff was wrestling. Seriously though, you're a good sport BDM, there I called you BDM, happy? Back to the purpose of why we're here, anyone else have a question for either of us?
Vance: I'm afraid we are running out of time, so why don't we get your final thoughts, BDM, you first.
BDM(serious): You might be laughing now Extreme, but when I leave you laying face down, bloody, injured, and without your precious SWF, you'll be feeling a little worse. And don't think it won't happen, I've done it before, I've left better men than you broken down, jobless...crying their eyes out like little babies. Oh, and a word to the wise, ANYTHING goes, so you'd better be ready, and watch you back!
Vance(taking it all in): Extreme
Extreme(serious, with some anger): There isn't much left to say. This Friday, Extrememania, it's all on the line. I'm ready to go, and my opponent seems to be as well, so expect nothing but the best, two men going at it with all they've got, to see who is the better man. All the bad blood is gonna get spilt, but only one man will be left laying in it, and as far as I'm concerned, it's NOT going to be me.
The two men stand up, and get face to face, with security getting in between them to prevent a fight, as we fade out.
END OF SHOW
